'Dagaz'
My Hairy Little Man

A little dog that saved my heart.
Hello, my dear friends. I just wanted to update you on the comings and goings
here in Kingston Springs. I am doing

much better as each day passes. (But there are still those moments)
As most of you know I have a new man in my life. Dagaz is a fine little guy, and is learning to be quite the gentleman. He is 12 lbs and full of it. It's been almost 3 months since I adopted him from Happy Tails in Franklin TN. They were so nice and very easy to deal with. I know some of you are thinking about getting a new friend..I found him online:"PetFinders.com" and just put in the criteria I wanted.
Dagaz was a little nippy at first...He loves women...however he mistrusted men. That is pretty much history now. He loves most everyone and enjoys going to the bank to get his cookie.
He has learned many things since being with me, and he has taught me to laugh again.
We are good buddies.

He is so funny...sometimes he will put all of his toys in a pile..
and then bring each one to me and drop them at my feet.
We went to the Kingston Springs Dog park a couple of weeks ago...
The colors of Autumn were beginning to splash across the tree tops.
We had a delightful afternoon and he had great fun sniffing and poking around in the grass.
Leaves stuck to a doggies butt! hahahah
What a happy little guy.

Is he pondering the great mystery of life?

Or smelling critters in the air....or maybe it could be....

...the girls paddling up the river.
It's an absolutely lovely walk around the park....It's good to be alive. "Rejoice in living"
Dagaz is outstanding in his field! ;)
Meeting some new friends.
Gee... aren't you glad that we don't meet new friends this way.
Although it would be hilarious to watch.

We just came back from voting.
Dagaz is wearing the "I voted" sticker.

Yes they let him in...

He was a good boy, and very curious with the goings on.

I have to tell you a funny story...Last week I finally finished staining the deck. What a job. I started working on it this spring. It took me two days just to pressure wash it! Then other things came up and summer was here. I would paint in the morning when it was cool. And then it got just to darn HOT outside for that sort of thing. Well anyway, I was just about finished with the lower deck. (I was seeing spindles in my sleep) I rolled and brushed the whole thing.
Dagaz was overseeing the job....When all of a sudden a Squirrel came through the yard. Zow-weee. For those of you old enough to remember the cartoon 'UnderDog'...That is what he looked like when he ran on the rail of the pool and leapt about 15 feet in the air.. his flag on his tail flying in the breeze, all he needed was a cape! And he hit the ground running. Most of you know that sometimes I can make a sailor blush.(But never in public) I ran out the front door, yelling like a sailor, with leash and treats in hand.
He has been loose twice before and it took a while to catch the little guy.
Well...the squirrel was up the tree,,, and all hell broke loose..Bark Bark Bark...Treats what treats???, I could have had a T-Bone steak and it wouldn't have made a bit of a difference. I was bent over with this little white blurr running circles at my feet. He was so fast..almost as fast as that goofy rodent. I grabbed and missed..several times.
Then the squirrel faked him out and split to another tree, brushing by me with Dagaz in hot pursuit, inches off the grays tail. I had tremulous thoughts of Dagaz running into the woods and losing his way home. There is so much under growth...I wouldn't have made it... Geee and I sure didn't want too. I was scary enough...covered in paint with a tee-shirt that you and I could fit in. That Dog was jumping like he had AirJordans on...The squirrel went to the third tree...and I thought that trying to catch the dog at my feet didn't work the last two times...sooooooo As Dagaz jumped up the tree...(He was jumping foot higher than my head!)
I timed his descent ...and made a grab for him.
GOTTCHA! He was yelping and squirming in my arms like the Tasmanian devil.
Well for now, he has lost his freedom on the deck...and is condemned to the rope and the suspicious eye of the evil redhead. The Squirrel hunters debut was brief...but now when I take him out side to pee-pee he looks up at the trees.. Geezz.

Doesn't that make you want to get a sweet little doggie?

Ahhhh I wouldn't trade him for anything...

After all he's a teenager...and you remember what that was like.

Wow.

Have a wonderful day....
and when things
gettcha down...remember to breath!

That's what I do!

With love to you...hugzz and kisses
Patty n Dagaz.

P.S. To the friends that encouraged me to get a dog, I thank you from the bottom of my mending heart.

(Got Band-Aids?)

The meaning of "Dagaz" is from an old Celtic symbol:
The interpretation is...New beginnings, Gods white light and transformation.
(he picked it out of three other names) I guess he liked the Z sound. He perked up his ears and walked over to me.
