"Cold Wet and Perturbed"
By special request 2/20/07

Greetings to you...
Have you ever had one of those weeks?
Yeah, you know the kind, when things just seem to turn out on the complete flip side. Well, those were the circumstances last week for Two Acre Wood.
The birds are so ready for some clear skies and warmer weather.

(Pictured: Eastern Bluebirds, Junco, Pileated Woodpecker, Cardinal, Thrush and Goldfinch)

"I'm tired of waiting!"

"Mr. P. you are being thoughtless to the rest of us!"

"Cold, hungry and tired of waiting, too!"

"Remember, you should have patience."

"I say, there is strength in numbers."

"I think I will give those woodpeckers a piece of my mind!"
".......And further more...
just because you're bigger than us, it doesn't give you the right to be inconsiderate!"
"I feel better already. I may be little but I'm mighty!"
"Switch to thistle seed, there's plenty."
(Note the changing of the color of the beak and the black feathers returning on the forehead. It's their spring and summer color coming back!)
" I'll never switch, I love my suet...I'm a true blue Bluebird."

Just when you think you're on the right path in your life's adventure, the rug is pulled out from beneath you. It leaves you sitting on the cold wet ground.
For a time you may feel disappointed, sad or lonely.
As you curiously observe the crumpled rug on the ground, what do you do?

Well this is what you do.… Unfurl the rug, get the vacuum cleaner out, suck up the crumbs, shampoo it and let it dry.

Then turn that ol' rug into a magic carpet!

It will stop raining, the clouds will move over and sun will show its face again.

That magic carpet will take you on a completely new ride. So be ready to hang on, don't forget to smile, inhale the fresh air and enjoy the view.

Your Friend in nature,
Patty Peeples
